Virginia McDowell is President & Chief Operating Officer of Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc., a leading gaming and entertainment company headquartered in St. Louis, MO with 18 casino properties in the United States, United Kingdom and Grand Bahama. She previously served as the Executive Vice President, Chief Information Officer for Trump Entertainment Resorts, Inc., which owns and operates three properties in the Atlantic City market.

A seasoned executive with over twenty five years of experience in the gaming industry, Virginia served as the senior vice president of operations in the corporate office of Argosy Gaming Company prior to joining Trump. She worked in Atlantic City for fifteen years prior to joining Argosy, beginning her casino career as a publicist at Bally’s Park Place Casino Hotel. She held senior management positions in numerous departments before being promoted to Vice President of Business Development at Tropicana Casino and Resort, at the time the largest casino megafacility in Atlantic City. Prior to her gaming career, she served as a production assistant working in both radio and television at WCAU, the CBS network affiliate in Philadelphia, PA.

Virginia was named by Atlantic City Magazine as one of their “People to Watch” in 1984; was named a Role Model by She Magazine in 1989, and named one of Atlantic City’s 10 Power Brokers by Casino Connection magazine in 2006. She has served on the board or as a member of the executive committee of Atlantic Mental Health, the Mayor’s Task Force on Atlantic City Improvements, ARC of Atlantic County, Airshow 90, Harborfest, New Jersey Fresh Seafood Festival, Kentucky Avenue Renaissance Festival, the ShopRite LPGA Classic, and was a founding member of the Atlantic City Basin Brass. She also served as chairperson of the Mayoral Inaugural Festivities Committee and the Atlantic City Entertainment Committee.

She was selected by the St. Louis Business Journal as one of their 2004 “Most Influential Businesswomen,” and served as President of AMC Cancer Research Center in St. Louis, where she was a recipient of the agency’s award for her contributions to the cancer community. She was a founding board member of Winning Women, a partnership with the St. Louis County Economic Council, and has served for a number of years as a member of the Conference Advisory Board for the Global Gaming Expo, as well as a speaker and session moderator. She currently serves as the Founding Board Chair and President of Gilda’s Club St. Louis; a member of the advisory board of the Philadelphia Sports Congress, and as a member of the President’s Advisory Board of Temple University.

Virginia was graduated cum laude from Temple University in Philadelphia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications in 1980. She resides with her husband and two children in Chesterfield, MO.
