Jennifer P. Young is Director - External Affairs for Verizon New Jersey. Jennifer is responsible for community relations, local government affairs, economic development, consumer, education and urban relations, and local media relations for Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties. She is also responsible for local corporate philanthropy and employee volunteerism.

Jennifer’s career at Bell Atlantic-New Jersey began in the Small Business Sales Group in Newark, New Jersey. After three years of positioning Bell Atlantic with small business customers across the state of New Jersey a new opportunity presented itself in Philadelphia.

In 1993, Jennifer was promoted and moved to Bell Atlantic-Pennsylvania to a challenging assignment in Outside Plant Operations. Over the next ten years she held assignments and led teams in Operations, Project Management, Installation and Maintenance, Construction, Dispatch and Workforce Development.

In February, 2004 Jennifer returned to New Jersey as Verizon New Jersey’s Southern External Affairs Field Director. This position has allowed her to build relationships on behalf of Verizon with business and non-profit organizations across the area. She has been able to draw on her 17 years of corporate experience to tell Verizon’s story.

She is a member of the Executive Committee of the Southern New Jersey Development Council. A board member of the Atlantic City Regional Mainland Chamber of Commerce, Atlantic City Hotel and Lodging Association, Atlantic Cape Community College Foundation Board, Camden County Workforce Investment Board, Cape May County Chamber of Commerce, Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey, and Cooper's Ferry Development Corporation. She is also a member of the following organizations: Salem County Chamber of Commerce, Vineland Chamber of Commerce, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, NAACP, Consortium of Information and Telecommunication Executives and Women’s Association of Verizon Employees.

Jennifer has a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from Hampton University, Hampton, Virginia.
